How to break password of Windows user accounts

Many times you would have opened your friend's or your brother's/sister's PC and came across a password protected account. You don't know how to open this account. Well, in this tutorial I am going to show you how to crack passwords of Windows XP user accounts no matter it is a administrator account or a limited account. Follow these steps:
  • Windows provides and additional administrative account. To break passwords, you need to get an access to this account. For this, when the welcome screen opens (the one on which user accounts can be seen), press Ctrl+Alt+Del (key sequence to open task manager). you will see a dialog box named 'Log on to Windows'. (see the image below):
  • Now type administrator in the user name column. Leave password column empty. Then click on OK. A new user account will open up.
  • Now go to Star->Run->type cmd to open command prompt.
  • Now type the following command net user <AccountName> *.For example, if a user account name is John, the command will look like this - net user John *.
  • If this command doesn't works, try typing start before this command. Then the command will look like start net user <AccountName> *. Press enter (see the image below).
  • After this, you will see a line 'Type a new password for this user'. Now just type a new password (see the image above).
  • Log out from this administrator account. Use the new password to break into the target account.
