Draw Something to become a TV show

CBS and Zynga are partnering up to make a game show out of Draw Something. A report by Variety says that a pilot of the show was picked up by CBS and will be produced by Sony Pictures Television, Ryan Seacrest Productions, and Embassy Row. So what will this pilot be all about? Essentially a bunch of celebrities and regular humans will battle it out in front of a live television audience. Variety says that even audience members at home will be able to tune in and play. So that little game which you played as a break during work or before you went to sleep will now be translated into a television format.

Draw Something was originally developed by OMGPop and when Zynga saw the popularity of the game, they decided to buy OMGPop for $210 million. Since then, the enthusiasm for the game has waned, even though the game got an update about two months ago that would make it more social. Zynga has most likely, since then been trying to figure out how to monetize off of Draw Something and for now, this seems to be their plan. Letting audience members interact with the game, while it's going on on television might be a key factor to regain enthusiasm for the game. However, that, like the game itself, has a pretty good chance of moving steadily downwards.
