Samsung, is expected to release the next generation of its smartphone tablet hybrid, dubbed as the Galaxy Note 2, in October 2012. The launch of the Note 2 is expected to coincide with the launch of the iPhone 5, which is also expected to be unveiled/launched in October 2012.
The biggest feature of the Note 2 will undoubtedly be the unbreakable plane display (UBP), which is expected to be very thin and a part of the flexible display technology that Samsung has been working on for quite some time now. The display will be of the SuperAMOLED variety.
Other rumoured specifications of the device include a quad core processor (most likely the same onethat has made its debut in the Samsung Galaxy S III), a 12 MP rear snapper, better battery life and a better display resolution, maybe 1680x1050 (that is approximately 373 PPI). The size of the display will however remain the same as the original at 5.3-inches. Also, its not necessary that the device will be called the Note 2, but keeping the Galaxy S smartphone naming hierarchy in mind, we can expect that it will be the Note 2.
Other rumours circulating around the Internet suggest that the device will run on Google’s next generation OS, Jelly Bean. Even though Google hasn’t announced the OS, we can hope to see some details of Jelly Bean make an appearance at the Google I/O event that will take place at the end of June 2012.
