Personalise your Gmail inbox with custom themes

One can now upload their own images directly, select from their Google+ photos or simply paste any image URL. Or, if one doesn’t have a particular image in mind, they can browse Google’s searchable Featured Photos section to find one that speaks to them. With so many great options, it may be hard to choose, so to get a sense of the images available, one can try searching for ‘hdr scenery’ or ‘bokeh wallpaper' in the Featured tab.

Google claims, “Whether you want to bask on a tropical island or simply reminisce about last year’s holiday with the family, your Gmail can now be customized to your mood. Find your perfect image and make your Gmail your own with custom themes.”

The update has not been dished out to all users, just yet, but it should be available within the next couple of days. The addition of including your own image is a great feature as one can easily customize their e-mail background with an image of their choice. Adding a personal image to one’s email gives one the highest form of uniqueness, as compared to standard backgrounds that have been there.
