Deatails about the Microsoft new mobile OS, the Windows Phone 8, have begun to surface in the form of leaked screenshots. First up, Skype will be integrated by default and an image of the caller pops up with the option to answer it with or without video and Skype chat can be started from the user’s profile as well. The camera UI seems to have undergone a slight change. The interface is simplistic with a zoom setting bar on the left and an option to switch between front and back cameras, along with an unidentifiable button. A DataSmart app will be brought to Windows Phone 8 that will give up-to-the-minute statistics on how much data is being used and how many more days users have left in their billing cycle. This app can be placed on the home screen for easy and seamless use. The live DataSmart tile will give real time updates.
When it comes to user interface and overall look and feel, Windows Phone is second to none. I myself have used Windows 8 in Samsung Omnia W (my brother’s phone). According to me, android is nothing against Windows. Let’s see what new features are added to Windows Phone at the Dev Summit on June 20th 2012.
