Windows 8 comes to Asus Transformer

At Computex 2012, ASUS Tablet 810 and Tablet 600 have been confirmed as the first ASUS hybrid devices to run on Windows 8operating system.

While the Tablet 810 houses an Intel Medfieldprocessor, 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB eMMC for user storage; the Tablet 600 makes use of the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM and 32 GB eMMC for storage. Tablet 810 is an 11.6-inch screen whereas Tablet 600 is a 10.1-inch screen. Both displays are Super IPS+ panel and have a resolution of 1366x768 pixels.

It seems like 11.6-inch is the new standard tablet size, what with Acer also having its own Windows 8 tablet – the Acer Iconia W700 sporting 11.6-inches of full HD display.

Both the 810 and 600 come with a mobile dock that transforms these tablets into notebooks, housing a chiclet keyboard and a trackpad along with a USB 3.0 port.
