TripIt app updated for iOS platform

TripIt, a popular trip organizing app, has received an update for iOS devices. The update features a new layout that simplifies adding, editing or deleting trip plans. The update also simplifies adding photos and searching maps on-the-go. The improved photo-adding feature allows travellers to simply snap photos of their trip and attach it directly to the information in their TripIt itinerary before it becomes a distant memory upon their return. For instance, such photos can be helpful for capturing baggage claim tickets, receipts, hotel room numbers or items to remember later. Moreover, the update to the maps feature allows you to add trip plans that are automatically displayed on a map, making it easy for travellers to find a restaurant, print shop or pharmacy near their hotel while on the road. The click of a button will allow for discoveries from the traveller's map search, which can be added to their itinerary, and will also assist to get point-by-point directions.

TripIt offers iPhones, iPad and iPod Touch users an easy way to find restaurants and shops, upload photos and also make changes to itineraries. Basically, this popular travel app keeps the planning and all related elements of one's trip in one place. You can view trip plans on the iPhone or iPad and even sync it with the calendar. Whenever you receive a confirmation e-mail from anywhere you book, you can simply forward it to plans@tripit.com and the app will instantly recognize reservations from 3,000+ booking sites, inclusive of cruises, restaurants, concerts and more. It instantly organizes all travel reservations and activities, irrespective of where they are booked, into one single itinerary that can easily be shared with others.

TripIt made it to our Top 10 travels apps list for both iOS and Android platforms early this year. The TripIt app can be downloaded for free from the Apple app store. Click here for the ad-free version, which comes at an additional cost.
