Windows 8 retail packaging revealed


Microsoft has finally revealed the official retail packaging of its latest operating system, Windows 8. The new logo design, unlike the wavy flag-styled older logo of Windows, is funkier and highly stylized. Microsoft plans to sell Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro editions boxed in packages of two color variants. Windows 8 will come packaged in a lighter color with the Windows 8-style UI logo very prominent at the front, while the Windows 8 Pro edition will come clad in a darker variant. This exclusive information was first broken online by The Verge after an official talk with spokespersons from Microsoft.



Hardware requirements for Windows 8:

  • Processor: 1GHz or faster
  • RAM: 1GB (32-bit) or 2GB (64-bit)
  • Drive space: 16GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • Video card: Microsoft DirectX 9 compatible device
