Zync has launched an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich-based 5-inch dual-SIM phablet, called Cloud Z5. The device is priced at Rs. 11,990 on the official Zync website; however the phablet is available for much cheaper at Rs. 9,490 via Snapdeal.
The Zync Cloud Z5 comes with a 5-inch multi-touch capacitive touchscreen with 800 x 480 pixel resolution. The device is powered by a 1GHz processor, and features 512MB of RAM.
Other features of the Zync Cloud Z5 include 8MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front camera for video calling, 4GB built-in storage and a microSD card slot that supports storage up to 32GB. The device comes with a 2,500 mAh battery.
For connectivity, the Cloud Z5 supports 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 and GPS. The device comes with various preloaded apps such as Zomato, Google Play store, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Zync's Cloud Z5 will be competition for devices such as the Micromax A100 Superfone Canvas, Micromax A110 Superfone Canvas 2, Spice Stellar Horizon Mi-500 and iBall Andi 5c. The latest Canvas 2 is priced at Rs. 9,999 and sports similar specifications.
Zync has so far only focussed on the budget tablet segment. The company recently launched Z1000, Z930 and Z909 Plus slates.
