The EA93 is designed for entertainment and the EA83 is specifically ideal to handle graphics-intensive applications. The 4-screen Split feature can divide the display into four segments, transforming the monitor into a multitasking tool. The additional Dual Link-up function allows two devices to connect to the monitor simultaneously. This feature also has the ability to ensure that sharing files from two devices at the same time such as a PC and a smartphone is simple

LG claims that the EA83 was designed to be a comprehensive monitor solution for filmmakers, photographers, designers and other graphics experts by providing a combination of superior resolution and lifelike colours. LG goes on to state that the WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixel) high resolution IPS monitor provides vivid picture quality while featuring one of the widest colour spaces in its category. Expressing colours not available within sRGB, the EA83 is able to display 99 percent of the Adobe RGB colour space and gives graphics professionals the exact colours they’re looking for.

Guild Wars 2 to be officially launched today

Guild Wars 2  will be officially launched today . The MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) had kicked off its three day headstart on Saturday for those who had pre-purchased the game.

Here are the system requirements for Guild Wars 2:

  • Windows XP Service Pack 2 or better
  • Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3, AMD Athlon 64 X2 or better
  • 2GB RAM
  • NVIDIA GeForce 7800, ATI Radeon X1800, Intel HD 3000 or better (256MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better)
  • 25GB available HDD space
  • Broadband Internet connection
  • Keyboard and mouse
One of the biggest features of Guild Wars 2 is that unlike other major MMORPGs like World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2 has no monthly subscription fee. The game follows a one-time payment model that you usually get from other games. Another great feature is the inclusion of a personal story for your character, where your character goes through a story which is moulded by the choices you make for the character during the creation of the character and other quests. The game also aims for a more dynamic combat system than what players are used to from the likes of World of Warcraft, Everquest or Star Wars: The Old Republic, with mechanics such as spells which have to be aimed properly instead of being targeted abilities and the ability to dodge attacks.

Guild Wars 2 can be purchased from its official website here.

With the Nokia World event just around the corner, reports of the brand’s upcoming smartphones appear to be trickling in. A handset that had been mention before, named Phi, has surfaced once more and this time noted tech blogger Eldar Murtazin reveals some information on the Nokia Windows Phone 8 device, a report by Obozrevatel.com states.

Microsoft had officially raised the curtain on Windows Phone 8 at an event in San Francisco earlier this year and claimed that it is the most advanced mobile OS Microsoft has ever made.

Here is a look at some of the highlighted features available on Windows Phone 8:

  • Multi-core processor support: Windows Phone was a slick OS that ran smoothly on handsets with a single processor. The latest OS now features multi-core support with Belfoire claiming that they’re ready for whatever hardware makers dream up.
  • Bigger, sharper screens: Windows Phone 8 supports two new screen resolutions — 1280 x 768 and 1280 x 720, making it compatible with new handsets that will feature high-definition 720p displays.
  • More flexible storage: Windows Phone 8 supports removable microSD cards, so users can stuff their phone with extra photos, music, and whatever else is important and then easily move it all onto their PC.
  • NFC wireless sharing: In Windows Phone 8, NFC helps make sharing photos, Office docs, and contact info easier. One can achieve this by tapping their phone on another NFC-equipped device.
  • Internet Explorer 10: The next version of Windows Phone comes with the same web browsing engine that’s headed for Window 8 PCs and tablets. Microsoft claims that IE10 is faster and more secure, with advanced anti-phishing features like SmartScreen Filter to block dangerous websites and malware.

  • Better maps and directions: Windows Phone 8 builds in Nokia mapping as part of the platform. This partnership will provide more detailed maps and turn-by-turn directions in many countries, plus the ability to store maps offline on your phone so you can work with maps without a data connection.
  • Improved apps and games: Microsoft states that basing Windows Phone 8 on the Windows core will unleash a new wave of amazing apps and especially games.

Google announces Google Play gift cards

Taking on Apple's iTunes gift cards, Google has announced its own Google Play gift cards service, which will be available in denominations $10, $25 and $50. Google's gift cards are available at the U.S.-based retail stores namely RadioShack, Target and GameStop. There is no word on the availability of the Google Play gift cards outside the U.S. However, reports suggest the company is willing to expand the service to other countries as well.

The Google Play gift cards have no fees, do not expire and come with a redemption code. Users can use that code on Google Play, via their mobile device. Codes can also be entered online at play.google.com/redeem. It's notable that in case a customer outside the U.S. gets a card or its code, they will be unable to redeem it. Google will check the customer's location and inform that the service is not available in their area/region.

There are some restrictions with Google's gift cards as well. Users cannot use them for Android app subscriptions, magazine subscriptions, or hardware and accessory purchases. Moreover, if a U.S. user moves to a country that does not use USD in Google Play store, they will be unable to use that card or Google Play balance. To know more about the restrictions, visit Google Play gift card's Terms and Conditions page.

Users, however, can use their gift card to buy songs, movies, TV shows, e-books, Android apps, and games from the Google Play store. The gift cards can also be used to purchase in-app items like extra levels, add-on packs, and virtual currency.

Google+ introduces Slider feature

In an official post, Google's Austin Chang elaborates on a new Google+ feature that aims to give users more control over what they read and share on the social network. This new feature, called "sliders" will help you tune the posts in your main stream (http://goo.gl/wrHDD).The new feature that now extends across Google+ essentially comprises three related improvements. Chang writes that they now have a slider using which Google+ users receive notifications each time their family or friends post something. This can be done by moving the Google Circle's slider to the right.

Users earlier had the option of using volume sliders to tune their mainstream posts such that they did not miss the posts most important to them, thereby helping create a perfect stream. It had been revealed that when users viewed posts of a particular Google Circle, a slider option at the top allowed them to adjust the way posts within a Circle appeared in the mainstream.

Apple becomes most valuable company of all time

Apple Inc's market value climbed past $623 billion on Monday, surpassing the record set by Microsoft Corp during the heyday of technology stocks in 1999.Apple shares rose 2.6 percent, bringing its gains this month to almost 9 percent as Wall Street bets on the September 12 rollout of the latest version of the iPhone, the device that revolutionized the mobile industry.

Microsoft, however, retains the title of history's most valuable company if its 1999 peak value of about $621 billion were to be adjusted for inflation.Apple's stock usually rallies in the run-up to major product launches, among the most heavily watched events on the annual tech calendar. The iPhone is the company's biggest product, yielding half or more of its sales.

Sources have said the company will take the wraps off a larger version of its iPhone on September 12. Some analysts also think it intends to announce a smaller iPad to safeguard its market share, as rivals from Google Inc to Amazon.com Inc begin selling cheaper, seven-inch tablets. But Bernstein Research's Toni Sacconaghi warned that questions remain about the availability of components for both the iPhone and the iPad, which in the past has constrained Apple's product shipments.

"A key question for the launch will be Apple's expected rollout schedule," the analyst wrote on Monday. "Apple's intention is to continue to ramp offerings as quickly as possible, but the company's ability to do so remains a key near-term question."

Apple's shares have risen 64 percent in 2012. On Monday, they closed at a session high of $665.15, conferring on the Silicon Valley giant a capitalization of $623.5 billion, exceeding Microsoft's 1999 value of $620.8 billion, according to data provided by S&P Dow Jones Indices. But Microsoft's value would rise to $853.7 billion after adjusting for rising prices, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' inflation-calculator.

Apple overtook Exxon Mobil to reach the No. 1 spot by market capitalization last year. Monday's move means it has now entered the record books as the biggest company ever, in terms of market value."Everyone loves a winner; if you play the quick trade be careful," said Howard Silverblatt, senior index analyst at S&P Dow Jones Indices in emailed comments. "If you are an investor, check the fundamentals and business plans, and avoid the hype in your decision."

Apple climbed even as fellow technology heavyweight Facebook Inc plumbed new depths. The No. 1 social network slid to a record intraday low of $18.75 in the morning before bouncing back to close just above $20 after Capstone upgraded the company's stock to buy from hold.

Facebook's stock has gone south in the past month as investors worried about its ability to make revenue grow. Last week, some early investors were given the go-ahead to sell for the first time since Facebook's May 18 IPO. Several similar lockups will expire through the end of the year.Facebook rebounded above $20 in afternoon trade after Capstone's upgrade, based on a combination of a more attractive valuation since its decline, and good long-term advertising prospects.

"It seems to be down around levels that people who didn't like the deal thought it was really worth. And now it seems to have stabilized," said Eric Kuby, chief investment officer, North Star Investment Management Corp in Chicago. It may have "found a level which seems more of a better price for people valuing the company in terms of the future."
