Rumours of a Google tablet have once again surfaced online. Reports on the Internet claim Google is planning to sell its co-branded tablets via an unidentified online store later this year.
Rumours of a Google tablet have been on the web for a long time now. First it was rumoured that Google will bring an Android tablet to compete with Amazon's Kindle Fire. Later, reports suggested the tablet will be a seven-incher and priced around $149-199, taking on the Kindle Fire.
Many reports have likened the upcoming and yet officially unheard of tablet with the Nexus tablet, which is similar to the brand’s rather successful, Nexus range of smartphones. Over the past few years, Google have come together with Samsung, with respect to their Nexus smartphones and the latter brand is being hailed as an obvious choice for manufacturing the tablet, but as per a report, it appears that Asus is in contention for manufacturing this tablet. Adding fuel to these rumours, a report by The Wall Street Journal states that the upcoming tablet from Google will be made available through an online Google-only store.
