Samsung has slashed price of its Galaxy Tab 680 (7.7) tablet by Rs. 6,000. The device, launched in February this year, is now selling for Rs. 28,500 at online retail store, Flipkart. Vodafone India has listed the Samsung Galaxy Tab 680 (7.7) at Rs. 26,149.
Specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7include a 7.7-inch SuperAMOLED Plus display with a 1280x800 pixels resolution, a dual-core 1.4GHz Exynos processor, Mali 400 GPU, 1GB of RAM, as well as 3G (HSDPA, 21 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps), Wi-Fi (dual-band, 802.11 a/b/g/n, hotspot, direct) and GPS connectivity.
Other specifications of the Galaxy Tab 7.7 include 16 GB built-in storage expandable via microSD (up to 32GB card), a 3.2MP rear autofocus camera with LED flash, 720p HD video recording, a 2MP front camera, and QuickOffice document editor. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 runs on a 5,100 mAh battery, rated to deliver up to 10 hours of continuous playback time. which offers up to 10 hours of video playback time.
The Galaxy Tab 680 currently runs on Android v3.2 Honeycomb, but will soon get updated to the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform.
The Galaxy Tab 680 price reduction comes shortly after Research in Motion slashed price of its select devices including the PlayBook tablet, Curve 8520, 9360, 9380 and CDMA-based 8530. Samsung kicked off 2012 by slashing price of Galaxy Tab P1010 by 6k. Among other major manufacturers, Motorola slashed price of its Xoom tablet 4k.
