Bitdefender, provider of security solutions has announced that Security for Virtualized Environments (SVE) has been verified as Citrix Ready. The Citrix Ready program helps customers identify third-party solutions that are recommended to enhance virtualization, networking and cloud computing solutions from Citrix Systems, Inc. The Citrix Ready validation of Bitdefender SVE with Citrix XenServer and Citrix XenDesktop assures customers of security solutions for virtualized datacenters. The Bitdefender solution protects both server and desktop systems, both Windows and Linux on any platform.
Bitdefender provides centralized management of virtual appliances creating comprehensive coverage across platforms. Organizations can reduce the financial, logistical and performance costs associated with traditional security approaches. Enterprises and cloud service providers (CSPs) with large scale deployments no longer have to choose between improved consolidation ratios and security.
"Having Bitdefender become a member of the Citrix Ready program is an important step in our continued efforts to bring our partners and their customers security solutions optimized for the Citrix environment," said Aimee Catalano, Vice President, Alliance Marketing at Citrix. "The Bitdefender offering will help address the increasing demand for more comprehensive security approaches that are easily deployed and managed."
"CSPs and customers with large scale Citrix deployments need reliable and scalable protection, and traditional security approaches are simply not going to give the level of trustworthiness, flexibility, and assurance, that is needed especially as these organizations expand their infrastructures and offerings," said Robert Krauss, Director Enterprise Sales and Alliances, North America at Bitdefender . "Our work with Citrix demonstrates our commitment to helping organizations protect valuable assets and optimize their investment in the Citrix technologies."
With Security for Virtualized Environments by Bitdefender, Citrix customers have the significant advantages of centralized scanning and management. By using Citrix and Bitdefender technologies, organizations are able to extend protection applied to guest VMs with the addition of memory and process scanning. The lightweight Bitdefender Silent Agent (via patent-pending caching technologies) simultaneously protects virtualized Windows, Linux, and Solaris systems - both servers and desktops.
