Karbonn Mobiles, who are the manufacturers of mobile phones in the Indian market, have announced their collaboration with Dolby Laboratories Inc. to deliver Dolby Sound to their upcoming range of mobile phones. The Karbonn KT81 marks the first in a series from Karbonn Mobiles, which incorporates cinematic Dolby Sound to bring better quality sound and a great listening experience to mobile entertainment enthusiasts. Designed to deliver a powerful sound on feature phones, Dolby Sound intends to make mobile music louder and clearer.
Speaking of specifications, the forthcoming Karbonn KT81 will feature a 3.2-inch capacitive screen with Haptic Touch interface. The device will also have a 3.2MP camera, and ability to install apps which will be available through Karbonn's own app store called 'K-store'. The phone has FM Radio with recording capability as well.
Moreover, the Karbonn KT81 will also have pre-installed applications like YouTube, Nexgtv for live TV Viewing. For connectivity, the device will support GPRS and Edge. The Karbonn KT81 will come with a 1,000mAh battery.
There's no official word on pricing, but it is expected be around Rs. 5,000

In a country where consumers, especially those who're young-at-heart, follow mobile devices with superior music-based capabilities and attach aspirational value to them, the collaboration of pioneering mobile sound techniques with technological features may help Karbonn Mobiles create a different niche in the segment. Their new Karbonn KT81 will be the first in a series of phones that will come with the Dolby Mobile Experience. For those not in the know, Dolby was founded way back in 1965 and has an extremely rich history in the genre of high quality audio and surround sound. This new deal between Karbonn and Dolby may potentially be an interesting and pleasant experience for the end user.
