Sony Xperia S to get ICS by May-end

Sony plans on rolling out the ICS update for Xperia S by the end of May or early June. Users in India will be getting the update around this time as well, although it’s not entirely certain if everyone will at the same time, due to the phase-wise roll-out. Sony announced this through a support forum, "Xperia S is planned to get ICS somewhere around late May/early June. That's what's been said and that's still what we're sticking to. Any other dates (such as "June/July") is just speculation," They also added, “The roll out is, as always, gradual and will not happen overnight for all phones. Some phones might get the update in late May whilst other will get in mid-June.” If you don’t get it by May end, then chances are that you’ll get it in the first week of June, but whatever happens, Sony will update all their Xperia S handsets to ICS by mid-June.

We loved the Xperia S' brilliant 720p screen in a 4.3-inch screen size, taking it higher than the Retina Display of the iPhone 4. It has GLONASS navigation system as well. The camera, although not impressive for indoor shooting, is absolutely brilliant for outdoor shots. They've modified the interface slightly - the music player gets a new look and the apps and the Timescape UI are smooth and easy to use. What's important to note, however, is the fact that the battery life isn't really that impressive. It lasted at maximum, a day, under heavy usage. The build and the finish is extremely brilliant though and Sony's latest flagship is definitely a marked improvement over their previous Xperia phones. More pros and cons have been covered in our full review for the Sony Xperia S.
