Google has announced a dedicated Google+ share button. The new feature is for users who want to share online content with their Google+ friends, similar to Facebook's share button. The new share button is the latest addition to Google's +1 button that was recently launched.
The new Google+ share button enables website owners to help Google+ users easily share the site's content on Google's latest social network. Google says the new share button is good for content that users might want to share, but not endorse with a "+1" - such as news or controversial items. The latest Google+ Share button is currently available to all publishers across the world. Developers can integrate the share button via Google Developers.
"When your visitors come across something interesting on your site, sometimes you want to encourage a simple endorsement (like +1)," Rick Borovoy, product manager for Google+, wrote in a blog post Tuesday. "Other times, however, you want to help visitors share with their friends, right away. Today's new Google+ Share button lets you do just that."
Each time users share a post, the colour of the Google+ share button will change from red on white to white on red. This will help users remember the content they've already shared with their Google+ share friends.
