Fedora Linux 17 a.k.a. ‘Beefy Miracle’ system has finally been announced . Fedora 17 comes with more than 60 new features and projects like oVirt, JBoss Application Server 7 and improvements in OpenStack with additional support for latest releases of desktop environments. Robyn Bergeron said that there is a greater emphasis on not just the under-the-hood and desktop features but also starting to see a greater influx of other large open source projects as well.
One of the features of Fedora 17’s desktop featurs include GNOME 3.4 which comes updated with search capabilities, improved themes. GIMP 2.8 is another that has got a couple of enhancements in tow. They’re planning to bring in some interesting updates in the next couple of releases as well. Along with these features, JBoss Application Server 7, which is a pre release of Juno Eclipse SDK and Java 7 for developers, is also being introduced.
