DOOMSDAY 2012: Things to Do Before I Die

The Mayans predicted that on this day the world will end. It became a popular topic for the world. Taking advantage of the situation Roland Emmerwich made the 46th most grossing movie of all time - 2012. It has been 3 years, I guess, since I watched that movie. John Cusack and his family survived the Apocalypse though nearly the whole of the USA (and world) was turned into dust, including the President himself. One thing that I learnt from this movie is that in case of a real life Doomsday, never trust a Russian Millionaire.

Well miracles like surviving of Cusack and his family happens in films only. By the way my friends call me miser. It's true to some extent. If there was an app for surviving the Doomsday, I'd only download it if it was Free!

Enough of dud talks. Time to get to the point. Today is the Doomsday. Though nothing had happen till now, but the Doomsday had shown it's trailer as earthquakes were reported in Delhi, Jaipur and some parts of South America. Minor hurricane was reported in Africa Minor, which might have been due to farts of some fat people. Here's a list of things that I would do before I die.

Watch Chelsea's Match in Stamford Bridge.

Stamford Bridge , home
KTBFFH. Keep the Blue Flag Flying High. Though India is a country that bleeds cricket but there had been a constant friction between me and cricket. Football is my favorite sport and Chelsea is my favorite team since my childhood. If the world ends today, Chelsea will be the eternal Champions of Europe. That's the only good thing that will happen in the Doomsday. My first dream before dying would be to watch Chelsea match in their home-ground,  The Stamford Bridge in London. Stamford Bridge is the only stadium in the world which has full Audi sports car seating.

Photography with a DSLR

Photography has always attracted me. I have three cameras, all Canon. I started with a film reel Canon Camera. Then I shifted to Canon A3100 IS which I got on my birthday from my father. Though I did nothing special, no good deed but still I got it. This camera made photography my personal legend. In November 2012, I got my third camera, added another Canon to my collection. It is a semi-DSLR, Canon S90. Though I might have all type of cameras, but I have never been a owner of a DSLR. I want to get one and use it before I die. So if you happens to be my friends (or enemy, doesn't matter), a long lost twin or a distant relative, never hesitate to give me a DSLR anytime.

Pee : Die Without Tension and Pressure

Peeing , Like a Boss !
Everyone must have taken a lot of pressure and tension during his/her lifetime. Same here. So at the end, why not die without worrying about anything. The thing that gives the most pressure and tension is - controlling a high pressure pee! Everyone will agree with it. Peeing gives a feeling of heavenly relief.

Things that can't be disclosed in public

Windows Phone 7.8-based Nokia Lumia 505 officially announced

The Nokia Lumia 505 is a budget Windows Phone 7.8 device and will launch on Mexico's Telcel network in the upcoming weeks. There is no word on the pricing of the smartphone or its availability in any other part of the world.

The Lumia 505 will be available in red, pink or black and show off a 3.7-inch AMOLED display. Under the hood, a single-core 800MHz CPU with 256MB of RAM powers the device. Whether the device has Nokia’s ClearBlack Technology isn’t clear but we won’t be surprised if the technology is absent since this is a budget device. The rear of the smartphone houses an 8MP snapper and there is no front facing camera. The built-in storage is low at 4GB and there is no expandable memory card option. Nokia and Microsoft will however provide 7GB of free SkyDrive storage with the Lumia 505.

The Nokia Lumia 505 weighs a mere 131 grams and measures 118.1 x 61.2 x 11.3 mm. It has a 1300mAh battery. You can take a look at the complete specifications of the device on Nokia’s official website here.

The reason the Lumia 505 will run on Windows Phone 7.8 and not Windows Phone 8 is due to its hardware limitation including the single-core processor.

YouTube for iOS updated

Google has updated its YouTube app for iOS to run better on the iPhone 5 and the iPad, and support the larger screen sizes and higher DPI. Besides the optimisation, users can now stream video with AirPlay, a feature that was not available with the previous version of the app. The update also allows you to tap the logo to open your channel guide, add and remove videos from playlists, click links in video descriptions, and brings improved accessibility with VoiceOver.

After Apple removed the YouTube app, which came pre-loaded  from iOS 6, Google swiftly released a dedicated app for the iPhone. However the app wasn't fully optimised for the iPhone 5 and the iPad, and lacked support for the high-resolution screens. Click here to download the app for your iPad or iPhone.

The YouTube app for the iPhone and iPad allows users to browse through YouTube’s vast video catalogue, find videos and channels easily with voice search and query auto-complete, subscribe to channels and instantly access subscriptions with the channel guide UI. Users can also read comments, browse related videos and enable subtitles while viewing content. The app also features the ability to share videos via Google+, email, Facebook and Twitter.

Gmail for IOS updated

Google has updated its Gmail app for iPhone and iPad with a number of new features including multiple account support and a neater interface, which is said to be inspired by Sparrow's Gmail app. Google had recently acquired the company and had assigned its employees to work on Gmail.

Apart from the cleaner look, Google has brought in a number of new features to the app that make it easier to use. Now messages now display a contact's profile image on Google+. The details of each contact participating in a group chat is shown immediately.

The updated app allows users to RSVP to Google Calendar invites and +1 and comment on Google+ posts directly from the app. The inbox scrolls infinitely as you swipe through your inbox, which is considered to be a major improvement on loading it screen by screen.

Other two features are autocomplete suggestions that help in completing e-mails faster and the other, the most notable one, is support for multiple accounts.

The two final features are general, but welcome, improvements. The first is the addition of autocomplete predictions to help complete emails faster. It will also catch all those nasty typos that frequently make their way into emails sent from mobile devices.

Users can download the updated Gmail app for iOS here.

Google has just announced the dates for its annual I/O event. The event kicks off on May 15th 2013 and ends on May 17th 2013. As of now, registrations aren’t open. They are expected to open in early 2013. The event will take place in Moscone Center in San Francisco.

In 2012, the I/O event too place in June and is scheduled for May in 2013. That's a whole month earlier than last year. If you are interested in taking a look at the highlights of Google I/O 2012, you can do so at the official Google I/O 2012 page here.
